Swiftwick Signs On For Two More Years of Revolutions
Fayetteville, Tennessee – March 04, 2009 – Dirt, Sweat and Gears race promoters announced today that Swiftwick International returns as co-title sponsor of this year’s 12 hour race. Swiftwick was a title sponsor of DSG for the first time in 2008 and their decision to sign a two year deal shows their continuing support for the cycling community. They’ll be offering a pair of their USA made, best in class merino socks to each participant, as well as introducing a few surprises on race weekend. “DSG is the perfect place for us to introduce our new line of performance products for the season,” said Swiftwick CEO, Mark Cleveland. “We are proud to partner with one of the marquee events on the racing calendar and support trail development in our own backyard.”
Not only is there a record high $11,000 pro purse with $1500 going to first place in each category, new partner Moots Cycles has also generously donated a handmade Ti frame that will go to one lucky soul on the night of May 9th. Each ten dollar donation to SORBA will be an opportunity to Take Home a Moots. The donations will in turn help SORBA with their mission in promoting land access, trail preservation and new trail development. SORBA Executive Director, Tom Sauret, says that “trail advocacy is hard work; it takes meetings, letters, negotiations and fundraising to get great trail single track built and the vast majority of mountain bike trail in the southeast exists because of the dedication of IMBA-SORBA volunteers.”
“This year is setting up to be a big one for both the DSG weekend and our trails. With Moots kicking in big-time, and top brands like Swiftwick and Ergon involved, we expect to have an incredibly memorable weekend, while we raise some serious money to support SORBA/IMBA,” said Grant Castle Co-Director of the big shindig. In an ongoing show of support, Ergon will again be offering a pair of Ergo GP1 grips to “Early Bird” SORBA/IMBA members who sign up for DSG. And if that’s not enough, all members will have a chance to win an Ergo BD2 pack at the race.
